I’ve come to believe that the most powerful catalyst for growth—both in life and business—is change. Not the kind of change that knocks us flat when we least expect it (though that can teach us too), but the kind we choose. The intentional, strategic, uncomfortable kind of change that pushes us beyond what we thought we were capable of.

Over the years, I’ve worked with countless professionals and business owners who have reached a certain level of success—and found themselves stuck. Not stuck because they lacked skill or vision, but because somewhere along the way, they stopped evolving. They stopped embracing change. Sound familiar?

Change Is Not the Enemy

Let’s be honest; change gets a bad rap. It’s inconvenient. It’s scary. It often forces us to look at parts of ourselves, or our business, that we’d rather avoid. But I’ve found that change isn’t the enemy—it’s the invitation. It’s the knock on the door that says, “There’s more available to you. Are you willing to go get it?”

And the truth is, you can either design your life and business intentionally—or let them design you. Change gives us the opportunity to step back, reassess, and realign with what truly matters. That’s the essence of what I teach inside my programs like Business By Design and the 12-Week Business Fit Challenge.

Why Mindset Is Everything

Let’s start with the inner game. Because without the right mindset, any change you try to make externally won’t stick. I’ve seen this play out so many times. A client makes a bold move—a new hire, a rebrand, a shift in services—but behind the scenes, their mindset hasn’t caught up. They’re still operating from old stories: “I have to work 60 hours a week to be successful.” Or “If I slow down, everything will fall apart.”

You can’t create a new life or business with the same thinking that built the old one.

So embracing change starts here—with the decision to believe that something else is possible. That maybe success doesn’t have to mean burnout. That maybe you can make more by doing less. That you’re allowed to want more joy, more space, more alignment—and then actually build it.

Business Is Supposed to Evolve

This is one of the biggest myths I love to bust: your business isn’t supposed to stay the same forever.

Think about how much you’ve grown in the last five or ten years. Your values may have shifted. Your priorities certainly have. So why wouldn’t your business evolve with you?

The most successful and fulfilled entrepreneurs I know regularly pause to ask: Is this still working for me? Not just financially, but energetically, emotionally, and creatively. And when the answer is no, they don’t wait for permission to change. They pivot.

That might mean redesigning offers, changing your pricing model, hiring support, or even narrowing your niche. I’ve helped clients do all of these things—and more—because when your business starts to reflect your current season of life, everything flows more easily. It becomes sustainable. Enjoyable. Profitable in new ways.

Signs You’re Ready for Change

If you’re reading this and nodding along, you’re probably already sensing that a shift is needed. Here are a few signs that it’s time to lean into change:

  • You feel exhausted, even when you’re doing what you “love”
  • You’ve outgrown your current client base or business model
  • You’re craving more time freedom, but don’t know how to step back without things falling apart
  • You keep hitting income ceilings, despite working harder
  • You’ve lost that sense of purpose or excitement

These aren’t failures. They’re signals. Your intuition is waving a flag saying: Hey, there’s another way.

How to Embrace Change Intentionally

Here’s the good news. Change doesn’t have to be chaotic. In fact, the most powerful transformations happen when they’re done intentionally.

That’s what I guide clients through inside Life By Design—because we don’t just want change for change’s sake. We want alignment. We want freedom. We want a business that works for us, not the other way around.

Here’s how you can start embracing change, right where you are:

1. Get radically honest. What’s really not working? Where are you feeling stuck, drained, or out of alignment? Don’t sugarcoat it. The more honest you can be, the clearer your next steps will become.

2. Reconnect with your vision. What do you actually want? If you could rebuild your business or life from scratch, what would it look like? Get specific. Write it down.

3. Question your assumptions. Challenge the beliefs that are keeping you stuck. Who says you have to do it that way? Who benefits from you staying overwhelmed and overworked?

4. Seek support. You don’t have to figure this out alone. Whether it’s a coach, a program, or just a conversation with someone who’s been there—support accelerates clarity and action.

5. Take the first small step. Change doesn’t require a complete overhaul overnight. What’s one small action you can take this week that aligns with your vision?
